Mercarik attended the international Consumer Electronics Show January 7-9th. The emerging technology becoming available for the people we help support is both inspiring and overwhelming.
The biggest focus/advances this year were in the area of wearables and artificial intelligence. We are seeing a dramatic shift in options available and competing technologies.
As always, Mercarik will continue to evaluate new options and recommend what we feel is the best fit for the person supported and those that help with their care. This is a delicate process as we need to be as sure as we can that the technology will be both present and the support available for those products over time.
Please always send suggestions and requests as you become aware of items you believe would be helpful but also know that there could be strong reasons we recommend against using what seems to be a promising new device.
